Our workshops are very hands on, so please ensure you wear clothes that you don't mind

getting messy.

Covid Restrictions: There are no covid restrictions at the venue. Please be aware that you will be working closely to other attendees. Please do not attend if you are showing signs of Covid. If you cannot attend, we can move your place on the workshop to a later date.

This workshop is aimed at anyone wishing to learn how to create basic sculpts that will be moulded for use in the creation of flat moulds. 

* Sculpt a piece using oil based clay

* Mould the piece using FS silicone

* Understanding mould release techniques

* Creating a gelatine prosthetic from your created mould 


This workshop is run by Steve Best and April Green. The workshop costs £50 per person and includes all materials used on the day. You also get to keep your mould and gelatine cast. You just need to bring yourself and clothes that you don't mind getting messy. This is a great introduction into the art of sculpting for flat moulds and is suitable for sfx make up artists of all levels.


The workshop is being held at the Playwright in Nottingham city centre.

April is a professional Special Make up Effects artist working in the industry for over 25 years, also a teacher on all levels and genre of make up. She specialises in prosthetics, and application for the TV and Film industry.


Steve has run Fake Up for 8 years and has worked on various film, music video and TV projects. He also lectures at colleges and universities, sharing his knowledge of the SFX make up industry.
